Algorithm
What is Algorithm - Definition
Algorithm - is a sequence of steps or a course of action that leads to the completion of a specific task or the solution of a problem in a finite amount of time. Complex algorithms are used by computer programs, in search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and others.
Computer algorithms are very closely related to computer science and computer programming. By inputting variables into a computer program with a programming language, data will be run through an algorithm instruction that can answer questions and help solve complex problems.
The algorithm in search engine.
Algorithm implementation is a great part of Google development. The world's most popular search platform in its early days was based on a quite simple way of ranking websites.
The main ranking factor of the algorithm was the number of "citations", links leading to a given page. Based on the number of links, the PageRank algorithm determined the page's position in the ranking for a given keyword phrase.
