It’s time to clear out that closet...

With winter coming soon, Columbus shelters are in need of winter coats. We’ve sponsored a Winter Coat Drive to help keep those in the community a little warmer during the cooler months.

From now until December 21st, you can drop off new or gently used coats at one of our three drop off locations. Plus, you can help a local brewery while you’re at it!

All the coats collected will be donated to two local shelters, Open Shelter and Joseph’s Coat of Central Ohio.

Open Shelter opened on December 6, 1983, as the first 24-hour emergency walk-in shelter in Ohio, and has sinced helped over 40,000 community members navigate tough times. In addition to clothing, Open Shelter provides food, personal hygiene items, tarps, and sleeping bags to those in need.

Joseph’s Coat of Central Ohio has made it their mission to assist homeless families while also aiding in their transition to permanent housing. With furniture, household goods, and clothing donations, Joseph’s Coat is dedicated to getting roofs over heads.

Localo would like to give a special thanks to Nocterra Brewing, Platform Beer Co., and Land-Grant Brewing who graciously volunteered to help with the donation process, and to The Residences of Creekside, The Normandy, and The Nicholas apartments for their support.

So grab a beer, bring an extra coat, and spread the warmth!
